Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to provide for a mobile detail?
We bring our own professional detailing equipment, including our own generator, tools and equipment. However, we do require access to a working outdoor water spigot or suitable water source within 30 feet of the vehicle.
Please make sure the water source is accessible and usable before we arrive. If there is no available water source within 30 feet, we may not be able to complete services that require water.
Do you bring your own water?
We bring our own generator and detailing equipment, but customers are required to provide access to a water source within 30 feet of the vehicle. This allows us to efficiently perform our exterior cleaning services at your location.
How far in advance do I need to book?
All appointments require at least 24 hours’ advance notice. This gives us enough time to organize our schedule, prepare equipment, and make sure we can provide your vehicle with the time and attention it deserves.
Same-day appointments may not be available.
Is there a deposit?
Yes. A $25 deposit is required to reserve your appointment.
The $25 deposit is included in the total price of your service, meaning it is not an additional charge. The remaining balance is due after the detail is completed.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Our standard service area covers Weber and Davis County and locations within approximately 20 miles of those areas.
For locations outside our standard service area, a $50 travel fee may apply. This helps cover the additional time, fuel, and travel required to reach locations farther away.
Where can you detail my vehicle?
We are a mobile detailing service, so we come directly to you. Your vehicle can typically be serviced at your home, workplace, or another appropriate location as long as there is enough space to safely work around the vehicle.
The vehicle should be parked in a suitable area with enough room to open all doors and access the exterior.
Does my vehicle need to be under a roof?
Not necessarily. We can work outdoors, but weather conditions can affect detailing services.
For the best results, the vehicle should be parked in a safe, reasonably shaded area when possible. Extreme heat, heavy rain, snow, high winds, or other unsafe weather conditions may require an appointment to be rescheduled.
Is detailing about perfection?
Not every vehicle can be restored to a perfect, like-new condition, and detailing is not about making unrealistic promises.
Every vehicle has a different history, condition, and level of wear. For some vehicles, the goal may be achieving an extremely refined, near-new appearance. For an older or heavily neglected vehicle, the goal may be restoring it to the best condition realistically possible.
Professional detailing can remove years of built-up dirt, improve the appearance and condition of surfaces, and help preserve the vehicle’s condition going forward. In some cases, proper detailing and ongoing maintenance can also help preserve the vehicle’s resale value and contribute to its overall value by keeping the interior, exterior, paint, and other surfaces in better condition.
Our goal is to restore, protect, and maintain your vehicle rather than promise perfection where perfection is not realistically possible.
What happens if my vehicle is extremely dirty?
We handle heavily soiled vehicles, but excessive dirt, mud, pet hair, stains, odors, spills, or other difficult conditions may require additional time and specialized treatment.
If the vehicle requires substantially more work than what is included in the selected service, additional charges may apply. We will communicate this with you before performing additional work whenever possible.
Do you remove stains and odors completely?
We work to significantly improve stains, odors, and other interior conditions using professional cleaning methods. However, some stains, odors, discoloration, and damage may be permanent or deeply embedded in the material.
Results can vary depending on the age, type, and severity of the contamination.
Can you remove pet hair?
Yes. Pet hair removal is available when included with your selected service or as an additional service.
Heavy pet hair can require significantly more time, so additional charges may apply for excessive amounts.
Do you shampoo and extract carpets and seats?
Extraction and deeper interior cleaning are available with applicable services or as an add-on. Extraction helps remove embedded dirt and moisture from carpets and fabric upholstery that traditional vacuuming cannot remove.
Can you detail vehicles with child seats installed?
Yes, but child seats and other personal items may need to be removed before we arrive. We do not disassemble or reinstall child safety seats.
Please remove valuable, fragile, or personal belongings from the vehicle before your appointment.
Should I remove everything from my vehicle?
Yes. We recommend removing personal belongings, valuables, paperwork, car seats, and other unnecessary items before we arrive.
We are not responsible for personal belongings left inside the vehicle.
Do you detail the engine bay?
Engine bay cleaning may be included with certain packages or available as an add-on. Engine compartments contain sensitive electrical components, so cleaning methods are adjusted based on the vehicle and condition.
Do you offer paint correction and ceramic coating?
Yes. Paint correction and ceramic coating services are available for customers looking for a deeper level of exterior restoration and protection.
Paint correction is recommended before ceramic coating when the paint contains noticeable swirls, oxidation, scratches, or other imperfections because a coating is designed to protect and enhance the condition of the paint rather than hide defects.
Will detailing remove scratches?
Detailing can improve the appearance of certain surface imperfections, but not every scratch can be safely removed.
Light swirls and surface defects may be improved through polishing or paint correction. Deeper scratches that have penetrated through the clear coat may require professional body or paint repair.
How can detailing help preserve my vehicle?
Regular professional detailing helps remove contaminants, dirt, grime, stains, and buildup that can contribute to premature wear.
Proper cleaning and protection can help maintain the condition of the paint, interior materials, trim, wheels, and other surfaces. Keeping a vehicle well-maintained can also help preserve its appearance and potentially support its resale value.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Because appointments are reserved specifically for your vehicle, late cancellations and no-shows can affect our ability to serve other customers. Deposit policies may apply to late cancellations or missed appointments.
What happens if I am not available when you arrive?
Someone does not necessarily need to remain with the vehicle during the entire appointment, provided we have access to the vehicle, the required water source, and a safe working area.
Please make sure any necessary access information is provided before the appointment.
How long does a detail take?
Service times vary depending on the package, vehicle size, condition, and level of cleaning required.
A heavily soiled vehicle may take considerably longer than a regularly maintained vehicle. We focus on the quality of the work rather than rushing through the vehicle.
Do you guarantee specific results?
We guarantee that we will perform the selected service professionally and according to its stated scope. However, every vehicle is different.
Permanent stains, damaged materials, deep scratches, paint defects, excessive pet hair, odors, and other pre-existing conditions may limit the final result.
Is there anything I should do before my appointment?
To help your appointment go as smoothly as possible:
• Remove personal belongings and valuables from the vehicle.
• Remove excessive trash and large items.
• Make sure the vehicle is accessible.
• Provide a usable water spigot or water source within 30 feet.
• Provide enough space to safely work around the vehicle.
• Let us know about pet hair, stains, odors, spills, or other major concerns beforehand.
• Keep the vehicle available for the full estimated service time.

Ceramic Coating FAQ
How long does the ceramic coating last?
Our ceramic coating is designed to last up to 2 years when properly maintained. For the best performance and longevity, we recommend professional maintenance washes with Boosted Mobile Detailing every 8–12 weeks using proper maintenance products and techniques.
What does a ceramic coating do?
A ceramic coating creates a durable protective layer over your vehicle’s paint, enhancing gloss, providing strong hydrophobic properties, and making the vehicle easier to maintain.
Does ceramic coating prevent scratches?
No. Ceramic coating is not scratch-proof and will not prevent rock chips, deep scratches, or other physical damage.
Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?
Not always. We inspect the paint beforehand and recommend paint correction when necessary. Proper preparation helps ensure the best possible finish before the coating is applied.
Do ceramic-coated vehicles still need to be washed?
Absolutely. Ceramic coating makes maintenance easier, but it does not eliminate the need for regular washing. Routine maintenance is essential for keeping the coating performing properly.
How often should I maintain my ceramic coating?
We recommend a professional maintenance wash every 8–12 weeks, preferably with us. This helps safely remove contamination and maintain the coating’s gloss and hydrophobic performance.
Can I use an automatic car wash after getting ceramic coating?
We recommend avoiding automatic washes with brushes or harsh chemicals. Proper hand washing is much safer for your coating and paint.
Is ceramic coating worth it?
If you want enhanced gloss, easier maintenance, and long-lasting protection, ceramic coating is a great option. With proper maintenance, our coating can provide protection for up to 2 years.
Ceramic Coating
Give your vehicle a deeper gloss, enhanced protection, and a finish that’s easier to maintain with a professional ceramic coating from Boosted Mobile Detailing.
Our ceramic coating creates a durable protective layer over your vehicle’s paint, providing excellent hydrophobic properties, increased gloss, and protection against everyday environmental contamination.
Professional Paint Preparation
The coating is only as good as the surface underneath it. Before application, we thoroughly wash and decontaminate the vehicle and inspect the paint to ensure it’s properly prepared.
For vehicles needing additional refinement, paint correction can be recommended before coating to improve the finish and maximize the final result.
